SECAMIC and PT Republik Aero Dirgantara (RAD) Sign Strategic Memorandum of Understanding to Strengthen MRO Capabilities in Indonesia

SECAMIC and Indonesian group PT Republik Aero Dirgantara (RAD) have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at developing comprehensive local Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) capabilities for various civil and military aircraft platforms in Indonesia.

This partnership marks a significant milestone in strengthening Indonesia’s aerospace and defense autonomy. It brings together SECAMIC’s decades-long expertise in military aerospace support with RAD’s strong local presence and institutional partnerships within the Indonesian defense ecosystem.

The cooperation will focus on technical oversight, training, supply chain structuring, and the transfer of specialized tools and know-how tailored to local operational requirements.

MRO activities will be centralized at RAD’s facility in Bandung, Indonesia, which is set to become a strategic hub for operations. SECAMIC will play a key role in ensuring compliance with technical standards, supporting certification processes, and delivering training programs.

Bertrand Lucereau, Chairman of the SECAMIC Group, stated:

“This memorandum of understanding reflects a shared and ambitious vision with RAD. Our commitment is clear: to support the development of a sovereign and sustainable MRO infrastructure in Indonesia by providing high-level technical expertise.”

“This partnership is a major step towards Indonesia’s industrial defense autonomy. Together with SECAMIC, we aim to build high-value MRO capabilities to support current and future fleets, while fostering local employment and skills development.”

The MoU outlines a joint roadmap leading to a formal contract, with an implementation phase scheduled over five years and options for extension. Ultimately, this cooperation is expected to reduce dependence on foreign maintenance services, improve aircraft availability, and serve as a benchmark model for international industrial partnerships in the defense sector.
